Me

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and raised in South Florida. In 2015 I graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in Graphic Design. Upon graduating I moved to Columbus, Ohio where I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch's HQ designing graphics for Hollister's apparel. In August of 2017 I moved to NYC and began working freelance.

I've designed for well regarded businesses and institutions including The Mellon Foundation, Goldman Sachs, The Economist, Amazon, Wealthfront, Google, T-Mobile, Planned Parenthood, American Cancer Society, Foot Locker, Weight Watchers, as well as small businesses, grassroots activist groups, and my mom.

point of view

Design can be many things, for me it is a way to survive and a way to pass the time. A way to speak to people in novel ways and a way to assist others in speaking to others in novel ways. I view my ability to design efficiently as a privilege and a luxury I want to share with others.

Lately I have been considering design as a time capsule. What images, textures, and symbols will people think of when they think back on our time? What and who will be counted and recognized? What libreratory breakthroughs of today will allow for peace and banality tomorrow?

My great grandfather was taken from the Bororo tribe in Brazil. My mother grew up in the favela. I grew up undocumented and had the fortune of accessing citizenship before graduating college. Here I am now with the ability to publish art and ideas on a global platform with a mastery of the imperialists' language.

To me design is a way of reclaiming power, surviving, thriving and making more room for people who have had to struggle for their right to exist. Design is about soft power, planting seeds, resistance, agitation and revolution.

My work

I'm a multidisciplinary graphic designer with a focus on brand Identities and motion graphics. My process often includes analog elements such as drawing, collage, writing, videography, and photography to produce lush, effective, and memorable visual treatments. I'm motivated by culturally valuable projects that push the boundaries of what design can be.
